Task

The password for the next level can be retrieved by submitting the password of the current level to port 30001 on localhost using SSL/TLS encryption.

Solution

OpenSSL is a library for secure communication over networks. It implements the Transport Layer Security (TLS) and Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) cryptographic protocols.

openssl s_client is the implementation of a simple client that connects to a server using SSL/TLS. Use openssl with s_client to connect to the server:

openssl s_client -host localhost -port 30001

Then enter the password of level 15 to get the password of level 16.
